Nicole Toferer (b. 2000, Linz) engages with sculpture, photography, performance, and installation in her artistic practice. She works with materials such as clay, plaster, wax, latex, silicone, and natural materials, as well as darkroom techniques and performative approaches. Her works emerge from a research-based artistic practice and are often interconnected. Drawing on feminist perspectives, Toferer examines social power structures, the history of medicine, and patriarchal and matriarchal systems. She combines historical research with body-centered and self-reflective approaches. Her installations explore materiality, the body, and care. Toferer’s works have been presented in various exhibition contexts, including at the Eikon Schauraum, the Charim Factory, as part of Foto Wien, and at the FC Carolinum. She lives and works in Vienna.
